C. M. Gardner State Park is a small property located on a scenic section of the East Branch of the Westfield River. The river is shallow and a delightful spot for wading, swimming and relaxing in a sunlit mountain stream. There is a picnic area on the banks of the river.

Two impressive flood control dams – the Knightville Dam and the Littleville Dam, each over 160 feet high – are nearby. They are managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and have small public picnic areas near the dam face.

From east or west: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Rte. I-90) to exit 3, Rte. 10/202 south, Rte. 20 west, Rte. 112 north, follow signs.
