Description of Boylston, Massachusetts

The Town of Boylston was incorporated in 1786 and lies in Worcester County, north of the City of Worcester. Boylston is a small town, which is mainly residential with some small businesses. There is an historic museum, located in the center of town in the Old Town Hall building, which provides some of the history of the community. The Wachusett Reservoir lies in the northwesterly part of town and covers about 4,800 acres of land. This reservoir supplies the City of Boston with its water.

Central eastern Massachusetts, bordered by Sterling and Clinton on the north, Berlin and Northborough on the east, Shrewsbury on the south, and West Boylston on the west. Boylston is 7 miles north of Worcester, 38 miles west of Boston, and 181 miles from New York City.
